Siméon Levaillant Photographe is available for new projects

Siméon Levaillant has been based in Strasbourg for around ten years and uses his talents as a photographer for businesses and public institutions. His three key words: creativity, quality, and reliability. Architecture, industry, historical heritage, and the business world are his preferred fields, with a scope of action covering the entire northeastern part of France: Nancy, Metz, Reims, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Colmar, etc.

Equipped with a Hasselblad medium format camera, he provides his clients with very high-definition images. His very first major project? A photographic campaign on two historic buildings for the City of Roubaix. Since then, projects have followed one after the other, whether for communications agencies, architectural firms, construction manufacturers, developers, real estate agencies, museums, etc. His work is regularly published in the press and in publishing: we can cite the book “Remarkable Contemporary Architecture, 1700 Buildings in France” (2024) or “The Guebwiller Region, an Alsace Far from Clichés” (2022). It is possible to discover his images at temporary exhibitions, such as the one held in 2019 on the gates of the Palais du Rhin in Strasbourg, entitled “The Architecture of Baths in the Grand Est”.

Siméon Levaillant draws his creativity from his visceral passion for photography, particularly documentary photography: it was the work of German photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher, as well as that of August Sander, that first fascinated him with this movement during his photography studies. A little later, he discovered the photographs of Gustave Le Gray, taken in the forest of Fontainebleau in the 1850s. A true revelation, because in Le Gray's work, documentary style coexists with expressive experimentation, thus forming a clever blend imbued with poetry and mystery. These works forged his artistic vision and influenced his professional choices.
