Jacky LAFORET has been a photographer for 30 years, specializing in weddings, portraits, ID photos (ANTS), reports, photo printing and enlargements, album design and printing, restoration of old photos, and printing on various media (canvas, aluminum dibond, plexiglass, PVC…).

He also offers COPIES of your old films (Super 8, VHS, 8mm…) transferred to USB drive, DVD, or hard drive.

Your photographer lives in the heart of France, in the Allier department, a mainly agricultural land with open spaces and greenery, where life is pleasant. In this beautiful region, Bourbonnais, you will find specialties such as potato pie, Charroux mustard, Vichy with its famous pastilles and sparkling water, and Moulins, the prefecture, known for its golden palets, costume museum, and the history of the Dukes of Bourbon.

Since his youth, Jacky LAFORET has had a strong passion for photography. After working a few years in a factory, he was laid off, and the time came to make a big decision… Not an easy choice when you have a family, but he decided to return to his passion. He asked the national employment agency for an internship with a professional. The internship was accepted, a mentor was found, and he had to take the plunge… Training at the Chamber of Trades, finding a town, a shop… it was a real obstacle course. In 1995, everything was ready: Studio JACKY opened its doors in Saint-Germain-des-Fossés, near Vichy.

In addition to photography, he also offered video rentals, which stopped in 2000 with the arrival of multiple TV channels. Then came the digital era, transforming the profession, shifting from film to digital, from negatives to computer storage. More and more time was spent on the screen doing retouching, preparing photos, and creating albums. The photographer’s job has changed a lot over the decades… Back in 1995, photos couldn’t be missed, and albums were made by gluing prints inside. Today, we can multiply shots, play with colors, restore old photos… The work has become very interesting and creative.
