Passionate about photography since childhood, guided by two parents, Julien SESIA received his first camera in 1979 at the age of 9 (Agfa Pocket, then Minox 35). He acquired his first SLR camera at 13 (Minolta X700). He developed and printed his photographs himself, in his uncle’s darkroom.
After a short career in the French Navy, he joined ESRA for three years (École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle), class of 1997. At this school, he was trained in photography and cinematography by Jacques Renoir, Director of Photography for J.-Yves Cousteau, and Claude Sautet, among others.
He quickly became a Camera Grip, then Key Grip, working in cinematographic production, advertising, music videos, TV movies, and series. He worked on films such as:
- RONIN by John Frankenheimer, with Robert De Niro, Jean Reno, and Jonathan Pryce.
- DÉJÀ MORT by Olivier Dahan, with Romain Duris, Benoît Magimel, and Zoé Félix.
- LE PETIT POUCET by Olivier Dahan, with Romane Bohringer, Catherine Deneuve, and Élodie Bouchez.
- FILLES PERDUES, CHEVEUX GRAS by Claude Duty, with Marina Foïs, Amira Casar, Olivia Bonamy, Sergi López, and Charles Berling.
- ÉCORCHÉS by Cheyenne Carron, with Mélanie Thierry and Vincent Martinez.
- TIRAILLEURS by Mathieu Vadepied, with Omar Sy and Michel Goya.
- SAGE HOMME by Jennifer Devoldère, with Melvin Boomer and Karine Viard.
- VOLEUSES by Mélanie Laurent, with Adèle Exarchopoulos, Philippe Katerine, and Isabelle Adjani.

Music videos for artists such as: Johnny Hallyday, NTM, Ophélie Winter, Bernard Lavilliers, Alain Chamfort, Laurent Garnier, Mickey3D, Mirwais, Garou, and Manu Chao.
Advertising campaigns for brands such as: Lacoste, Milka, Aubade, Maille, Spontex, Volkswagen, Skoda, Renault, IKEA, But, Kinder, Cisco Systems, etc.
Julien SESIA also worked in television on events such as:
- Roland Garros 2012–2013–2014
- Tour de France 2012
- Davis Cup 2014
- European Swimming Championships in Berlin 2014
- Several contributions to the program Des racines, et des Ailes.
At the end of 2023, after 25 years of dedicated service, he ended his career in cinema. Since then, he has devoted all his experience and expertise in the world of image-making to photography.
With his company, Julien Sésia Photographie©, he works with many private clients and companies for events and advertising, such as: Bouygues Immo, Basic Fit, Lego, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Sea Shepherd, Mairel SAS, and with the Shoootin agency, among others.
In the press, for L’Est Républicain and the ANDIA Agency.
In advertising, with the EBRA Media group, for biannual magazines in the 54, 55, and 88 regions.
In wildlife photography, the sale of a collection of 7 photographs to the municipality of Pierre-la-Treiche.
