TOM Atome

Tom ATOME, a passionate photographer since the age of 12, emerges from a line of photographers spanning three generations between Paris and Lyon. The child of an entertainment technician, he grew up behind the scenes of theaters and film studios, captivated by the creators of the shadows, these magicians of dreams.

Initiating his photographic journey on stage to occupy the long hours of rehearsal, his first work was a shot of Smaïn and his father during the editing of Les Fourberies de Scapin.

Although life takes him away from his father and the world of entertainment, Tom does not forget photography. Travel and meetings become so many opportunities to exercise one's passion. After exploring various fields such as corporate events, weddings and landscapes, he finally returned to his first passion: the world of entertainment.

For several years, he devoted himself to Backstage photos and Making-Of, assuming the role of still photographer. This privileged position offers him an in-depth understanding of filming and the various roles of film technicians.

To better understand what motivates artists, Tom immersed himself in the world of theater by taking classes and putting himself in front of the lens as a model and actor, even participating in films and TV series. This experience allows him to establish links with actors, understanding their feelings, expectations and passions.

Fundamentally a portrait painter, Tom refocuses on the art of portraiture, capturing details, emotions and human contact. According to him, a good portraitist is a director who guides his subject to enhance their character traits.

Natural light is its main working (re)source. This changing light requires us to adapt as the actor would with his mood and energy of the day. This allows you to participate in the fact that a session, like a play, is played in a unique way.

Working outdoors and in natural light allows us to offer a range of images with different atmospheres in a shorter time than in the studio.

Tom provides his artistic skills, his experience and his eye to create unique portraits. He's constantly learning, understanding your needs, and discovering something new every day, whether it's a new person, a new place, or a new request. His approach is a true artistic creation, a writing in light serving the singularity of each subject.
