PROXILUZ is available for new projects

Since adolescence, Laurent GALLIANO has nurtured a passion for photography. His early career, immersed in developer and fixer baths, marked an exploration of the world of black and white film. A child of the countryside, he naturally gravitated toward nature photography, with a predilection for macrophotography, landscapes, and rural architecture.

In the early 2000s, building on his career as a computer scientist, he rediscovered photography through digital technology. This time, his darkroom was software-based, lit with artificial light, and... his hands were dry! There, he discovered the freedom to manipulate colors and the power of digital adjustments to reveal the full richness of images.

Driven by a deep attachment to his visual heritage, he began digitizing and restoring his old black and white negatives, as well as yellowed family photos. He experimented with colorization, refined his mastery of development and retouching software, and succeeded in bringing photos damaged by time back to life. Curious and passionate about innovation, he explored artificial intelligence tools as soon as they became available, in order to further enrich his techniques.

At the same time, Laurent GALLIANO continued to photograph diligently: landscapes, insects, family portraits, pets, everyday objects… He experimented with many things, particularly with light. However, photography remained a hobby.

Until March 17, 2020. This day of general lockdown, synonymous with a forced break, became a turning point. He then began to dream of a future where his passion would also become his profession.

This dream took shape with the registration of the Proxiluz trademark, a contraction of Proximité and Lumière. Then, on May 5, 2023, he launched his own business, built around a dual ambition: to offer photo restoration services to those whose attics still hold forgotten treasures, and to offer on-site photography services. For Laurent GALLIANO, photography is above all an invitation to travel, an art of capturing the moment as it is experienced.

Proxiluz embodies this dual skill: the alliance of the artistic eye and technical precision.
