From a very young age, she has always had a camera in her hands.
Originally from Guadeloupe, an island full of color and life, Aubane NESTY learned to capture unique moments: vibrant landscapes, expressive faces, and simple yet powerful instants.
In 2021, after completing a bachelor’s degree, Aubane officially began working in the audiovisual industry. Surrounded by a strong and creative team, she joined the image reporting department of EWAG, a 360° media outlet covering positive news from the French Caribbean territories. For three years, she covered numerous stories highlighting individuals and initiatives that contribute to the region’s visibility and cultural richness.
In 2024, she began a directing and post-production program at Kourtrajmé Karaïbes, where she spent six months studying the entire filmmaking process—from pre-production to shooting and post-production. She co-directed a short film with five other students, which went on to win the Audience Award at the Nouveaux Regards Film Festival the following year.
In 2025, she moved to Paris to develop her career as a freelance photographer and videographer. She now focuses more on photography, integrating her cinematic and documentary background into her visual practice.
Since then, Aubane has built a body of work centered mainly around portrait photography, while exploring a wide range of subjects: artists (dancers, painters, performers), pregnancy, families, lifestyle, fashion, and more. She does not limit herself to a specific type of project. Instead, she is driven by a desire to learn people’s stories and capture meaningful moments in their lives.
Her work is her way of expressing herself. She captures silent emotions that photography can preserve in an timeless way: gazes, bodies, movements.
In 2025, she received a second prize in the international black and white photography competition “MonoVisions Awards” in the conceptual category, with a portrait of her sister blending into the waves of a Guadeloupean river. She describes the piece, titled Renaissance, as a minimalist silent ballet between human and nature.
Aubane has a strong sensitivity for black and white photography, grain, and contrast, while still embracing color when appropriate. She carefully edits each image individually, paying close attention to detail, believing that every photograph tells a unique story.
In short, Aubane NESTY’s work is built on listening, kindness, consent, and precision. For her, photography is above all a human adventure. She values her clients as much as her craft and fully commits to every project, aiming to create unique images that meet their expectations.
